Ingredients

Bagels
  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Bagel Topping (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • Everything bagel seasoning

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, add your whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt and mix everything together.
  2. Add your greek yogurt to the mixture and mix everything together. It will be clumpy at first which is normal.
  3. Next, either lightly dust a kitchen surface with flour and transfer the dough onto it or keep your dough in your bowl if your bowl is large enough for kneading.
  4. Knead the dough for several minutes until all of the clumps are gone and it forms a smooth consistency. To knead, push away with the heel of your hand, fold one side of the dough over, make a half turn with the dough and repeat this process.
  5. Once you’re happy with the consistency of your dough, place it on a cutting board and divide it into 4 equal parts.
  6. Roll each part into a ball.
  7. Using your finger, press into the center of the ball to form a hole. From there, shape your ball into a circular bagel shape.
  8. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  9. Add your bagels and boil on both sides for 1 minute (2 minutes total.)
  10. Drain using a wire rack, then transfer to your air fryer basket.
  11. Brush the top of each bagel with egg wash, then sprinkle your preferred toppings onto the bagel.
  12. Air fry at 180C/350F for 10-15 minutes, or until the bagels are golden brown around the edges. If you prefer to bake these, bake on 375F for 25 minutes
  13. Let them cool for several minutes before serving.
