Jalapeño Cheddar Turkey Burger

Ingredients
  

Patties
  • 1 lb 93/7 Ground Turkey
  • 1 jalapeño chopped and seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup white onion finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Burgers
  • 4 Hamburger Buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Cheese
  • Mayo
  • Avocado

Directions
 

  1. Take out a cutting board and with a knife, chop up your onion, cilantro and jalapeno. Remove the seeds from the jalapenos.
  2. Take out a large bowl and add your ground turkey, chopped jalapenos, onion, cilantro, large egg, minced garlic, cheddar cheese and seasonings.
  3. Mix all of the ingredients until they are combined.
  4. Begin shaping your burger patties into about 8 patties.
  5. Using a skillet or a grill, cook your patties on medium heat for about 5-8 minutes per side. Repeat the process until all of your turkey burgers are cooked.
  6. Assemble your burgers with a hamburger bun and your choice toppings.

Notes

These patties are delicate due to the lean turkey, so handle them gently and consider making them slightly smaller than standard beef burgers for easier flipping. They also freeze well raw, so portion and stack them with parchment between patties for quick protein-packed lunches later.
