About Flexible Feasts

Welcome to Flexible Feasts! I’m Steven.

I’m a Southern California native who started getting into healthy cooking back in 2016. Like many others, I was looking for solutions that would help me build muscle and get in shape. With more than a decade of experience cooking healthy recipes, I started Flexible Feasts to help others on a similar path.

I’m a content creator focused on developing healthy recipes that are high in protein, made with healthy ingredients and are easy to put together. You’ll also find nutrition facts for nearly every recipe on here as I believe it’s important information to help you evaluate if a certain recipe aligns with your goals.

Helping Busy Adults Live A Healthier Lifestyle

I built Flexible Feasts to help busy adults eat in a way that supports their goals without feeling like they’re on a diet. Whether it’s low calorie snacks or meal prepping flavorful Gochujang Korean Chicken Bowls, I turn familiar meals and desserts into higher-protein, lower-added-sugar, and more filling versions that still look and taste satisfying.

I want to help my viewers build muscle, lose fat, and live an overall healthier lifestyle through recipes that are practical, budget-friendly, and actually enjoyable to make. I intentionally try to make the recipes simple without a laundry list of exotic ingredients because I want viewers to actually make these recipes.

The broader mission behind Flexible Feasts is to inspire lasting change by making healthy eating achievable, enjoyable, and a sustainable part of their daily lives. I share practical recipes and guidance to help people feel confident and in control of their health.

Higher Protein
Many of my recipes are built around cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, lean meats (chicken breast and 93/7 ground meats), and protein powders. Protein has many benefits and you can read my article on the benefits of a high protein diet right here.
Lower Added Sugar
A lot of my recipes rely on calorie-free natural sweeteners like stevia, allulose or monk fruit to reduce the amount of added sugar in the recipe. In fact, a lot of my cottage cheese ice cream recipes like my Cottage Cheese Blueberry Ice Cream use allulose. If I do use added sugar, I stick with natural sources like honey or maple syrup and avoid refined sugars whenever possible.
More Filling
I try to model my recipes around ingredients that have fiber and protein to work together to keep you full longer. This is why a lot of my baked recipes like my Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bagels won’t use all purpose or refined flours and will use more filling options like whole wheat or oat flour.

Flexibe Feasts

I went with Flexible Feasts since the name describes exactly what I’m about.

Flexible

  • Based on the “flexible dieting” philosophy and no strict adherence to diets like keto, intermittent fasting, Mediterranean etc. You’re free to eat whatever you like as long as it meets the 80/20 rule.
  • The 80/20 rule: 80% of the foods you eat in your diet consist of healthy, unprocessed foods. The remaining 20% consists of whatever you enjoy eating.
  • Flexible Feasts helps with that 80% with a wide variety of nutrient-dense recipes that still taste enjoyable but are fueld by healthy wholesome ingredients.

Feasts

  • Complete, nutrient-dense meals with healthy carbs, fats, and proteins.
  • Recipes that taste like a feast without going overboard on the calories or making you feel sluggish afterwards.
  • Lower calorie, higher protein, and higher fiber options that let you eat larger portions than their “unhealthy” counterparts. Meals like my Sugar-free Chicken Teriyaki are only around 330 calories when paired with cauliflower rice and broccoli.

Wholesome Recipes That Fueld Your Health & Fitness Goals

When it comes to creating recipes, I never want to put out something for the sake of putting something out there. A lot of thought and care is put into crafting something that will actually benefit you when you make this recipe.

The recipes I create are built around a consistent set of priorities:

  • Higher protein per serving using cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, egg whites, lean meats, and protein powders
  • Lower added sugar by leveraging calorie-free natural sweeteners like allulose or monk fruit, natural fruit sweetness in bananas or dates and sweetness from unrefined sources like honey or maple syrup.
  • Better satiety through volume, fiber, and protein, not strict calorie caps
  • Simple, repeatable methods using everyday tools like ovens, air fryers, microwaves, blenders, and sheet pans
  • Everyday ingredients found in typical grocery stores, with substitution notes for different fat levels, flavors, or textures

I don’t chase clickbait “4 ingredient” recipes that don’t taste good. If I have a 4 ingredient recipe, it’s because I believe it actually is good and will benefit you in some way shape or form. In fact, my Cottage Cheese Brownies recipe is one of my all-time favorite 4 ingredient recipes that tastes like a real fudgy brownie.

Serving You Is My Utmost Priority

I know what it’s like to want to get healthier but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice online. I felt that way myself years ago, and it’s only gotten harder to navigate since, with one voice telling you to eat this and another telling you to avoid that.

That’s why every recipe here gets careful thought with you in mind, whether that means keeping it macro-friendly, free of added sugar, or budget-friendly. My goal is a recipe that actually serves you.

And every photo or video you see is shot by me. It’s a lot of work (and a lot of dishes), but my passion for food and desire to help others is what keeps me going. By the way, that’s me in the photo here, filming one of my air fryer recipes and surrounded by the gear I use for every recipe on my website.
